Boeing T-50 Engine

Engine Inlet and Compressor

The T-50 engine above is located in the Cal Poly Aerospace Propulsion Laboratory, and has been converted to a turbine engine for the purpose of studying pressure differences within the system as well as pressure and flow speeds at the exit of it. Originally, it served the purpose of powering helicopter rotors, and thus initially had a gearbox located at the rear. This gearbox has since been replaced with an adjustable nozzle for the purpose of studying varying nozzle cross-sectional areas. Over the summer of 2021, I was tasked with testing the functionality of the engine from startup to shutdown, over its entire power spectrum, and assessed the compatibility of the pre-installed transducers with the program "Labview".
